Updates from recent MRI & CTR Scan

Hi all-

I hope this finds all of you well! Andy and I went to the Dr today to discuss the findings of the recent MRI & CT Scan and the results were good. The tumor on the liver has shrunk a bit from 3.0 cm to 2.3 cm so the Sutent (chemo) is doing its job. They are going to compare the results from the scan in July to see if there is anything else that needs to be addressed.
The spinal tumors have shrunk and we will continue to monitor any type of growth. They will always be there until such a time as we either go for another type of radiation treatment or surgery. The key is to stop the growth of the tumor and it looks like they were successful!
They are changing my chemo dosage from 50 mg to 37.5mg, my bloodcount is getting too low and its a proactive movement by Dr Hutson.
On a more fun note - Halloween is coming up and we have been getting the girls outfits ready. One of my girl friends gave me a bumble bee costume for Natalie and Jordan is going to be a mermaid made with love and lots of do-overs by me! Its been a good experience - I am thankful for the process and the person who lent me the machine -hi Steph :)
My sister, Vicki and I are about to embark on our 3Day Breast Cancer Walk Nov 7-9th. We are going to walk as far as we can in memory of all whose lives have been touched not only by breast cancer (DJ - sister and 7 year survivor) but any kind of cancer. It will be a time of celebration for us and thank you so much for your donations - we are going to have fun!

My love and best to all- Have a Spooky Halloween!

Update on Renal Cell Carcinoma

Hello out there! I just wanted to give a quick update since I know that we have the prayer train rolling all over the country and many are asking how I and the rest of my family are doing. I am currently undergoing treatment for renal cell carcinoma, which is kidney cancer that has moved into my spine and liver. I am taking chemo and its a pill form (Sutent) that I take every nite for 28 days with 14 off. It must be working because I feel h0rrible! No hair loss but it is turning gray...those of you who know me well are aware that I don't wear much makeup but I am going to have to start using an eyebrow pencil and mascara every day - good Lord! The next thing you know I'll have to start wearing actual lip color instead of gloss and then blush...I'll turn into a makeup junkie at the ripe old age of 37 :)

My last radiation treatment on the spine was last Tuesday and I should find out the MRI results (done last Wed) tomorrow. I am confident that the radiation was successful because the pain levels decreased significantly - yeah!

The support has been amazing and we can't thank everyone enough for the kind words, cards, dinners and gift cards - they are being used and we so appreciate them all! One of the most fustrating aspects is physically not being able to do little routine things but we know this will pass. We have asked God for a Cancer Free Xmas and if you say a prayer, please ask for the same.

The rest of the family is great - Andy is my rock and the girls are growing and just a joy for us! We are getting ready for Halloween and have a very spooky front yard - BOO :)

Best to you and yours,

Polly
